Wooden Carving

Through its brilliant use of colors and its superb balance between design and form, Quranic art creates an immediate visual impact, whether it is a piece of wooden carving or a work of sculpture on stone.

Sculpture

We wish to go beyond the obvious surface beauty of Quranic art to the frontiers of its rich historical and cultural background and reflect upon its symbolism and meaning of continuity and dynamism with relation to the person of Imam(as) and Dai(tus). Al Quran has always helped to encourage artists and the development of all arts transcending distances in time and space and boundaries of states and religion without compromising its main purpose and by retaining an overall coherence.

Aqa Moula tus

Of paramount concern to the development of these arts is the presence of the figure of Imam(as) and Dai(tus). Under their benevolent guidance and patronage the Quranic arts have always succeeded in reaching the pinnacles of beauty and perfection, while bringing out the message of al Quran and ultimately pointing towards the eternal fact that Dai-al-Zamaan(tus) is the JAME of all arts and from him the true meaning of all arts and perfection reflects. Syedna Taher Saifuddin(ra) proclaims :-

Wa Tawwil Bait

"And O my Ilah, grant (Syedna Mohammed ) Burhanuddin(tus) a long life. He has acquired all qualities of glory and fame."

In fact all arts derive their qualities of beauty and perfection from the sole being of Imam(as) and Dai(tus). The distinctive features of beauty and perfection in nature itself are but the alms put in the begging bowls of Allahs creation by none other then Aimmat(as) and Duat(as).

Human art has always been reflective of the beauty of nature and baithas endlessly strived to copy it. The infinite characteristics of the stunning beauty in the sun and the oceans have always been epitomised by the literati of all ages. They are the most significant and observable of Allah's creations Syedna Taher Saifuddin(ra) says :-

"The sun derives from the NOOR of Ahle-Bait (sa), and the ocean begs and seeks thier favour."
